Almost two years ago Compete.com had done a research on what work and not work at Craigslist. I think this study still valid and can told us what work and not work at Craigslist.
It’s no doubt that Craigslist became a traffic champion wonder of the online classified ad. The site boast about 500,000 page view per day well over gumtree.com. The site offer simple interface, posting inventory from video games to real estate. Compete.com point out in there blog, many visitors to craigslist.org are looking for something more risque than that lamp with the red velvet fringe.
From eight major American cities, erotic services consistently garners the highest number of individual visitors, averaging 265,000 people per city. Equally score high visitor volume are the section for casual encounters as well as personals for women seeking men. Only Car for sales came close to venue outside of this virtual red-light district.- Men seeking men. Although rank within the Top 5 status in two cities by visitor volume, each month these category view over 50% more pages and 20 more minutes on average searching these posts than any others postings as compared to apartment rentals to items for baby.
- What not working. In general local news, business supplies for sale, real estate and web design are probably better off advertising somewhere else.
- What work. It isn’t shocking that the search for romance is extremely popular in the online space. The online space offered anonymity, privacy, and little room for embarrassment, Craigslist (and other similar sites) is an ideal marketplace for those looking for those willing.

Oh, I’m not aware of that. I have visited the craiglist site a couple of times before. And I didn’t notice or should I say, didn’t able to think about that. Thanks for the information.

It is a known fact that Romance and adult only internet sites are usually what leads the internet forwards technologically.
Without these sites the internet would be a few years backwards.
The content of these sites is a completely different issue.
i admire Craig Newark of craiglists because he became a milionaire in such a short time .
