inauguration

Whether you are headed to Washington for the Obama Inauguration or simply want to follow along online, there is no shortage of sites and applications dedicated to the national party on Tuesday, January 20. Let look at what would happen during this time.

Demand for video

It’s estimated that between two and four million people will be on the national mall on .  While is it’s assume that demand for live video coverage of the event will be send to hundreds of millions outside of D.C. to their TV sets other may just have to watch the live event at their office or school since the event took place during daytime at mid day.  This group of people will watch this event via their personal computer and laptop.

But all those streams require bandwidth. Once the main computer-based bandwidth is maxed out and new viewers get stuttered video, they’ll try to use cell-phone-based – which at some point rely on the same used by their office or school computers.  So the video feed remain stuttered.

However if you still want to watch the live you can go to, Hulu or C-Span.

Live Feed Via Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and Text Message

The discussion already started.  All those interested can join NPR’s social media desk, NPR Inauguration Report. All or text messages that start with “#inaug09″ or “#dctrip09″ will be included in NPR’s feed, as well as Flickr photos and tagged “inaug09″ or “dctrip09.”

At the time of writing, Twitter disussion on this topic can be found under the search term Obama and inauguration.

Thanks for the list of social media resources!! I won’t be around a television or radio during the inauguration, only a computer, so these resources will be utilized! Thanks!
