Politics, Technology And Entertainment:The Next Niche Market?

by Hamdani Amin on November 16, 2008

In the next four years, with the changing American political scenario and the second great depression threat is looming, in between, people will find their own “Quantum Of Solace” in the form of entertainment, just to run away from the airhead and bughead of reality.  This will be the next , even then during the economic depression (1930′s) and now (2008).

What then is 1930′s and now 2008 – Politics

Introduction of Smoot- by the US Congress had been seen by some economist as one of the that “…exacerbated the problem by preventing Europeans from selling enough goods in the United States to earn enough dollars to pay off their debts from World War”.

We yet to see what rules and regulation may come forward from the newly elected President , what we know that he already have three big short-term priorities.  One thing in similar, as a result of the Stock Market Crash in 1929 and The Great Depression, the Presidential Election of 1932, Republican candidate, Herbert Hoover, lose to Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Democrate.

Since then many speculation can be made about Mr. Obama next move, the speculation can come from anybody even from you.  For me, I’ll get a lighter dose of politics from my friend, Robert, at blabrmouth.com.

How Hoover use technology to win the election.

Back then Hoover use Radio to put him in power, while Obama use Youtube and Social Networking, or what we call web 2.0 to put him in power.  This time around, the Presidential election actually won by technology and highly effected by it.  So does the last time.

There will more technology innovation that will appear and invented while at the same time we also see the big giant facing difficulties.

From that technology to the next technology there will be more to be desire and more to be commented on the usability of the existing one.  The commenter could be, one of them, you.

I like to read more about technology from Techjaws or from Mintywhite for professional advice on technology.  If I still need to read more, I can always go Gizmodo.

In time of hardship, the best escapism will be entertainment

Back then with the introduction of sound, movie become increasingly popular. Thus we have Gone With The Wind which beg 10 Academy Award.  The people forget their misery when they hear Scarlet Ohara voice whispering to her love.  Add to this, you always have big band, Glen Miller.

Today we were introduced with mobile entertainment and high definition TV.  If the introduction of sound making movie more realistic back then, today with such technologies (HDTV and realistic sound), movie and entertainment suddenly become more close to reality in sound and color.  Not to mentioned the gaming experience.

This is the escapism, safe escapism from the hardship we going to endure during this period.  Only you can tell what kind of experience you had got from using all these advancements in entertainment.  Beside all this products were made for you.

The final thought

This is the only suggestion on what are the possible niche that will take shape in upcoming month or years.  This three main areas at least will help you to make a quick decision where to steer your next blog adventure.  You may have your own ideas that can be made into a niche market and you’re welcome to share it in the comment box.

This post still lack of your contribution, perhaps you find it useful or you can promote it in your own way and give a Thumb-up or some Digg.

Thanks for the mention! Once again you are right, people are escaping in droves to the movies, Las Vegas, and home entertainment equipment at home.

Thank you so much for the mention! I do believe people will stay home more and do the things that still bring them joy like watching movies and other forms of entertainment.

Don’t people already escape to entertainment? Usually, the 1st thing people cut in their budgets are leisure expenses which translates to less entertainment, in a way, or at least, refraining from certain kinds.

Entertainment and technology as a niche???…I don’t think so since I am blogging in the same market but this is so overwhelmingly large that we cant refer to this as a niche. It already is too huge, although I agree that these are the markets in which people now a days spending so much time in
