I recently run a 7 days test study on social media marketing using MyBlogLog using the techniques I mentioned on one of my post, “The Marketing System That Never Fail“. This study was done on 20th-27th September 2008 and this is what I learns from the study.
For this study, I choose one community, Entrepreneur’s Journey own by Yaro Starak. It’s more or least similar to my blog. Currently have about more than 4,000 community members.
From this test, more than 70% of my community members also a members of Yaro community.
Contrary to what Ray Dotson friend suggested in his blog post, adding 15 contact per days may not be feasible since on average active MyBlogLog user, log in into their account between 1 to 3 days. Thus if you sent an invitation today, they would only respond after 1 or 3 days. I still received notification of contact invitation acceptance even after the 7 days test end.
Respond within one day or the most 48 hours. 48 hours windows serves very well even for active community. Each time you respond to a new message, keep it open to every one. This will indicate that you manage your community very well.
The most active community will be features under the hot community. Your community need to be listed at the far left list of the hot community. You will get between 4-5 new community members if your community listed here. It’s a free advertising.
The choice of community names and their avatar will effect the numbers of new community partipant. 4 out of 6 community featured in the hot community notably carry sex inclination or have sexy picture avatar. During the 7 days test, top three community beside streamxy, where “Bra and Lingerie” and “My Private Couch” (this one use a sexy community avatar).
The image above was a snapshot of today hot communities (1st October 2008). As mentioned, one of the community use a sexy image.
i had not tested the effect of registering with more than 1 community per day, perhaps some one can elaborate on this. What worked here might not worked for your community. I also like to hear some other techniques that work with mybloglog.

Sounds like you were really focused! How much time did it take and can you say your traffic from MYBlogLog increased by what percentage? Did the new contacts visit your blog and join your community?

Good post! I’ve always wondered about the secret to getting more visibility thru MBL. I’m still confused by some of MBL, but will do better adding contacts at least every week… But there are limits to how many you can add each day, aren’t there? How can you add 100?

@Viqi French: So far I manage to add about 175 contact daily and at one time 1,000 contact. There is now limit impose as at now.
