Blogi360 – Simplify But Not Free.

by Hamdani Amin on September 30, 2008

What do I love most about WordPress as , extendability and FREE.  WordPress being an software had accumulate a pool of free technical support and developer that will build theme and plugin that work only for WordPress.

But that also become a disadvantage, being so many developer build theme and plugin for WordPress, some of  these theme and plugin contain malicious code and conflict issue and security hole with every new release of WordPress.

Introducing Blogi360

I get to know Blogi360 when I went over to Blog World Expo blog.  Deborah Micek talk about this software in an interview with Blog World.  Apart from her company build the software, she shares the same frustration using WordPress,

“there were so many plug-ins to install, and with the updates they issue to fix bugs, etc. it became incredibly time-consuming”

The software initially available only for their private coaching client and subsequently with the business owner under a simple promise that you will be “to focus on writing & uploading content, videos, etc instead of worrying about the techie stuff”

Features of Blogi360

The five basic features for Blogi360 as mentioned at their website, were:

  1. Simplifying and automating “techie” tasks
  2. Attracting search engines, top rankings, and traffic
  3. Connecting with visitors to boost rapport, trust and sales
  4. Converting visitors into friends, friends to customers, and customers into raving fans
  5. Training, coaching and support to help you succeed

But all this with a price tag, which bring us to the next point.

Cost Of Acquisition

The company currently waived the one time initiation fee of $79.  Monthly membership fees is $97 per month.

During this promotion period, for all first time visitor to their website, you get to try the Blogi360, for 14 days at $1.00, of which after that period if you don’t cancel, the normal membership fees will apply.

If you have a WordPress blog on an existing owned domain, you can import your WordPress blog to Blogi360 for a one time fee, $49.

What Are The Requirement?

You need to have a domain name.  Installation could not be done on sub-domain (http://sub-domain.domain.com) or directory level domain (http://domain.com/directory/).

What are the pros and cons?

Pros.

  1. Taking away all the techie stuff off
  2. Search Engine Optimization ready
  3. Social Media Marketing ready

Cons.

  1. Pricey, for a $97 per month and $49 per import from WordPress, I think rather stay with WordPress.

They have a few video on their site that explaining the features  Blogi360, you could see some of the video here.
