Well everybody expect that the mantra should be “thou shall post daily”.
If you had read about my blog post on 25 blog styles and how often you should use them, this going against what I had said.
But Seth Godin will agree with me because he has indicate in one of his post.
Eric Kintz at MarketingProfs has pointed to me the problem of daily post – very interesting. He has pointed out also that according to Technorati, only 11% of all blogs updated weekly or more.
I had address Eric opinion on the relevant of traffic and community participant in my blog performance measurement series. Even Darren also has pointed out why he think some social measurement is not important. I had also stress that what important is community participant in the 1-9-90 Rule.
What Eric has point out from Technorati finding about blogging landfill had caught my interest. Only 55% bloggers post after 3 month of existence. If blog growth have been exponential as measured by Blog Herald from their July and October 2005 finding, then their will be about 72 million blog had been abandoned or actually a spam blog and this figure is increasing. This benchmark also could become the initial benchmark on the level of persistence required for new bloggers.
I too like Eric conclude in his post, “if you want to be a top 50 Technorati blogger, you will most probably still need to post several times a day. But for the rest of us, we should think seriously about the added value of frequent blogging.” You can read his full post here and you should also read what Ann pointed out at Bloggers Anonymous that highlights the challenges of blogging addiction.
