Why Is It Important?
What important is not the different result but the interpretation of the result. The Flesh-Kincaid Readability Test Plugin provide this necessary information. From the plugin, you three most important information will be Fog, Flesch and Kincaid.
Fog measure measure The Gunning-Fog Index, Flesch measure The Flesch Reading Ease and Kincaid measure The Flesch–Kincaid Grade Level.
How To Interpret The Result
The Readability area can draw attention to possible problems in the general writing style of the document IF your blog post indicate the following symptom:
- the Gunning Fog Index is higher than 10, or
- the Flesch Reading Ease score is greater than 60%, or
- the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level score is greater than 5 – 7 (for younger readers), 5 – 9 (general readers) or 7 – 12 (industry or technical readers)
If your post indicate that symptom, you need to look at the document with fresh eyes.
