I am a great fan of Transformers, with the Autobot and Decepticon, and even more with the movie, The Transformer movie (perhaps due to Megan Fox), so went I see http://www.seibertron.com , my expectation is it should be all about transformer, and yes it indeed.
The design and the layout confirm does serves as the complete resources for the transformer universe. at one spot you could get the news snippet, the featured shop and anything about transformer.

But have you been to monk.com, initially I thought that I will see a lot of monk or at least the website will be about religious but that not seem to be the case. Â It’s about media and advertising company. I do recall it was formerly own by Church Group but due to their failure to renew their domain renewal, the domain goes back to public and snap by another company.
I could write a lot of thing about how to choose a domain name, how to maintain domain name and a lot more thing about domain name. But point to note here is how your blog design or even your website should reflect your domain name.
If your domain name sound like an online magazine, or newspaper then it should look like a newspaper. There many premium theme that gave a layout like magazine.  For magazine theme, depending on your theme, you will get three choice of layout, normal blog (just like a blog), magazine style (just like a magazine) and magazine but in list form (look like magazine but only display title and some excerpt).  I had tried all choice, personally I think you should stick with the blog layout.
But recently, I found a wordpress theme that a hybrid between magazine and blog that not too magazine and but not too bloggish. It’s call Arthemia, have not try it yet may be if you have tried it you can leave us some comment.
But not all will like to use the magazine format, some will like just to use the plain blog format. Â I personally think if you domain name end like dot.name, dot.info; may be it better to use normal blog format.Â
But a normal blog format should not be as mundane as it is.  Have you visit dooce.com. The author talk about her daily life.  The blog design simple and straight to the point.  It serve the purpose of being a blog of her daily life.
Maybe you had heard about the interview with Alborz Fallah, his passionate with car.  His blog design more on a hybrid between a photoblog and blog. While it’s personal blog, the design depict much like online car magazine with photo and review.
But what ever the design decision, you take on the design of you blog, it’s entirely up to you because you need to passionate on what ever topic your choose for your blog. May be this could be another topic to be written about.
